Howard Zinn 1922-2010 (General)

by rotten_republic, so cal, Monday, February 08, 2010, 22:49

I've been taking a break from this particular site as of late.
i just wanted to see that everyone was aware that Howard Zinn has recently died. and see what you all thought about him. in my view he was a true working class hero. and he refused to let history be (re)written by the dominate culture.

we need more Zinns in this world.

I was aware of Zinn's death - he was obvioulsy getting very old in his last public speaking ventures.

This book is worth reading (written by Zinn), it was to me.

Howard Zinn 1922-2010

I haven't been that motivated to participate in forums or do much lately because of a lot that's been happening elsewhere in my life, but I've known Zinn passed away a while now. I have to respect Zinn for going back to the village in France and doing his best to repent for participating in one of the first uses of napalm. It's sad that he's passed, but at least he lead a good life and contributed his bit to 'Anarchism'.

I haven't been on as much too for some time, if you have noticed and yeah it's a shame we lost Zinn. We definitely need more Zinns, at least Noam Chomsky is still alive. Chomsky reminds me of Zinn a lot, and I hope Chomsky will continue Zinn's legacy for however long Chomsky lives.
